Saturday 18 July 1987 - Argyle Football Ground, Plymouth (Plymouth Rock Festival)

Comments: Planned gig that was seemingly called-off after contractual problems between the promoters and the groups. Early advertising showed the intended line-up as Flesh For Lulu, Steel Pulse, New Order, The Damned, Spear of Destiny, Public Image Ltd and Siouxsie & The Banshees. However, the festival was salvaged with Spear of Destiny, Steel Pulse and The Damned still supposed to be appearing. The gig may have gone ahead with some bands - Black Sabbath turned up (but refused to play) and Captain Sensible supposedly played. The Damned were said to have been furious that the promoters continued using their name long after they had pulled-out.

Wednesday 1 July 1987 - Warwick University (Presidents Ball)

Set: unknown.

Comments: The bill also included - Barrence Whitfield & The Savages, Him, The Drifters, Pop Will Eat Itself, Band of Holy Joy, We Free Kings, Terry & Gerry, Ghost Dance, Salvation, Blues 'N' Trouble. Gig known to have taken place.

Comments: Whether 'Eloise' finished the main set and 'Plan 9 Channel 7' began a first encore (as usual at other shows during this period) was not distinguishable on the tape that this set was sourced from. 'New Rose' and 'LA Woman' were definitely played as an encore.

Comments: Support from James Griffin & The Subterraneans, Screaming Tribesman and The Johnny's. The tape that this set originated from finished in such a way that it is not possible to work out whther 'New Rose' definitely ended the show, or whether further numbers were played.

Thursday 19 March 1987 - The Palace, Melbourne, Australia

Set: unknown.

Comments: Originally I had this listed as 'The Ballroom, The Venue, Melbourne', but a contibutor to this site wrote - "These gigs were played at The Palace complex, I went to both shows. The Palace was located across the road from The Venue".

Wednesday 18 March 1987 - The Palace, Melbourne, Australia

Set: unknown.

Comments: Originally I had this listed as 'The Ballroom, The Venue, Melbourne', but a contibutor to this site wrote - "These gigs were played at The Palace complex, I went to both shows. The Palace was located across the road from The Venue".

Set: unknown.

Monday 16 March 1987 - Le Rox, Adelaide, Australia

Tuesday 24 February 1987 - Tivoli, Utrecht, Netherlands

Set: Sanctum Sanctorum, Wait For The Blackout, Psychomania, Anything, Shadow of Love, In Dulce Decorum, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde (curtailed), Ignite, Peggy Sue, Is It A Dream, Backdoor Man, Smash It Up, I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night), Eloise. encore(s) - Plan 9 Channel 7, Street of Dreams, Neat Neat Neat, Pretty Vacant, Shakin' All Over, Born To Kill, LA Woman, Love Song, We Love You.

Comments: End date of European tour. Prior to 'Wait For The Blackout', Dave Vanian apologised for the band being somewhat drunk - "we sampled some of the local alcohol". The set continued as per other nights up to the beginning of 'Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde', with members of the band trying to gee up the quiet crowd prior to that track - "take the concrete out of your shoes and enjoy yourselves", however, before Dave Vanian sang a word of 'Dr Jekyll', they stopped the track, there were some brief comments, and then they instead launched into the more lively 'Ignite', and then the remainder of the set was not at all like other nights. 'Neat Neat Neat' turned into more of an extended jam than a song in its own right, which included riffs from 'Wild Thing' and 'New Rose'. A tiny, non-vocal, piece of 'Babylon's Burning' preceded 'Born To Kill'.

Wednesday 23 February 1987 - Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Set included: In Dulce Decorum and Eloise.

Sunday 22 February 1987 - Uden, Netherlands

Set included: Sanctum Sanctorum, Wait For The Blackout, Psychomania, Anything, Shadow of Love, In Dulce Decorum, Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Is It A Dream, The Girl Goes Down, LA Women, Smash It Up, Eloise. encore 1 - Plan 9 Channel 7, Street of Dreams, Neat Neat Neat, Backdoor Man, Tonight, Love Song. encore 2 - We Love You, [ see also Comments below ].

Comments: The end of the recording that the above set was taken from contained some disjointed additional tracks - 'Limit Club', 'Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town' and part of 'Born To Kill' following 'We Love You', that may or may not be from the same concert, but seem likely to be because a) The recording quality seems the same, b) 'Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town' is definitely a different version to other concerts where it was played in the 80's, c) The female audience member singing along during 'Ruby', sounds like it may be the same woman shouting out in the build-up to 'The Girl Goes Down'.

Friday 20 February 1987 - Plan K, Brussels, Belgium

Set: Sanctum Sanctorum, Wait For The Blackout, Psychomania, Anything, Shadow of Love, In Dulce Decorum, Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Is It A Dream, The Girl Goes Down, LA Women, Smash It Up, Eloise. encore 1 - Plan 9 Channel 7, Street of Dreams, Neat Neat Neat, Love Song, Tonight, Backdoor Man, We Love You. encore 2 - New Rose.

Comments: Whilst there is no evidence to indicate that 'Sanctum Sanctorum' began this set... it seems unlikely that it didn't, based on normal sets from this period.

Wednesday 4 February 1987 - Tenax, Firenze, Italy

Set: Sanctum Sanctorum, Wait For The Blackout, Psychomania, Anything, Shadow of Love, In Dulce Decorum, Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Is It A Dream, The Girl Goes Down, LA Women, Smash It Up, Eloise. encore - Plan 9 Channel 7, Street of Dreams, Neat Neat Neat, Backdoor Man, Tonight, Love Song, We Love You.

Comments: 'Is It A Dream' was originally started and abandoned part way through (guitar out of tune?)... it was then re-played in its entirety. The recording that this set is taken from cuts out towards the beginning of 'Tonight', but it seems likely that as with other sets from this period, further songs may have been played... and possibly as a 2nd encore.

Sunday 25 January 1987 - Quartier Latin, Berlin, West Germany
